Musical movies are pretty good! My favorite is Jungle Book because it has such a big fight at the end.
I have to disagree on Lego Movie as an example of the nice guy. Part of what makes the nice guy the nice guy is that he’s a wonderful avatar of niceness who, if he needs to change at all, just needs to become more confident so he can better show the world HOW AWESOME HE IS. Emmett doesn’t fit that bill. Until he actually becomes the Special, he’s clearly not worthy of Lucy/Wyldstyle and the movie knows it. Part of his arc is becoming the kind of guy who deserves her. It also doesn’t fit the nice guy bill because it isn’t just about Emmett; Lucy/Wyldstyle’s entire arc is basically realizing that the Master Builders aren’t better than anyone else, and she doesn’t have to be Wyldstyle or Neversmile or any of the other goofy names Vitruvius was rattling off just to avoid being one of them. She can be Lucy and end up with a normal guy instead of trying to be some supercool punk with an ever-changing name and a boyfriend like Batman. (I have opinions on this as only someone who’s watched it 80 gajillion times with a four-year-old can.)
Also, I’m 92 pages into my rough draft. If I make it to page 100 while Into the Woods is still out, you’ve officially convinced me to make seeing it my reward for myself.
