Yes!!!! I won the “Guess the Outro Music” Game! (I did a double fist pump in the car, but then I had to put my hands back on the wheel to avoid a couple Pokemon Go players who had wandered onto the road.)

Welcome back. Great episode. but now I have to buy the soundtrack, darn it.

Your discussion of Leslie Odom Jr.’s very restrained performance reminded me of this really cool bit from the documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywhRHAArQ34 Apparently Jodi Benson had a Broadway background, so she originally wanted to do a fairly over-the-top, singing-to-the-cheap-seats version of “Part of Your World” rather than the version we get in the movie. You don’t realize exactly how restrained and filled with unexpressed yearning the movie song is until you hear Howard Ashman coaching her through it. (And then you hear the Broadway recording, where the actress does a less subtle version because she literally does have to sing to the cheap seats, and you just cringe.)

I think the song that officially made me fall in love with Hamilton was “Satisfied.” “My Shot” and “You’ll Be Back” are great, but I’d heard them both on their own before listening to the entire soundtrack. But “Satisfied” not only introduces the mature and drama-free love triangle, it brings us some wordplay and rhymes that had me laughing aloud with delight (“I’m the oldest and the wittiest and the gossip in New York City is insidious . . .”).
