Oh man, I wish I lived close enough, and had children small enough, to apply for a position at the Kobold Academy.
Have you run into the thing where conservative high-churchy types go super nuts about Advent? I’ve run into people on the Interwebz who act as though if you put up a non-purple wreath or decorate your tree before Christmas, or at least before Gaudete Sunday, you’ve been infected by Teh Culture and may as well have baby Santa in your crèche. (Speaking of, you’ve also been infected by Teh Culture if your family Nativity manger has anything but animals in it before Christmas Eve.) This is fine as a personal practice, but I’m a bit creeped out by people who treat decorations as a point of religious doctrine.
The only thing like that I’ve seen is the guy who was on Judge John Hodgman years ago.
